Christmas at the Seegmillers...

Twas the week before Christmas and all through the house, not many were stirring, not many except mom..

The start of vacation went off without hitch, but within another day everyone was sick....

Rachel was the first to fall, then Andrew joined the fevered few...

Bryant then running nose came along, and the tail end was Eric with a BAD ear infection...

So needless to say mom's plans of fun, frolick and outside,

were put slightly on hold and traded in for a much calmer mode...

instead of outside there was much inside, sleeping, napping, games,

 t.v. watching, sleeping, medicine, and more t.v.....

inbetween all this recouperating mom tried to help everyone find some fun stuff to do,

 like wrapping up presents and painting and glue..

Christmas came and was fun and enjoyed...even while being under the weather...

Here are a few pics of things we did before we got hit so hard..

We made some cookies to deliver as treats for our friends.

of course delievering our goodies was just as much fun,

even though I don't have any pictures of that...

For Christmas Eve dinner this year we decided to go out to eat.  We picked Applebees and it was great...kids were even really well behaved...they didn't eat much, but really still didn't have any appetite being sick at this point.. They saved their food for lunch or dinner the next night.

The kids get to open one gift on Christmas eve - from mom and dad - New Pajamas! Here they all are sporting their new duds right before bed time....we were getting ready to read the story of Christ's Birth in Luke 2..now mind you it was only 7 p.m., however Bryant was fussy and wanted to go to sleep, so he did, the rest of the kids gathered on the couch, but before we'd begun Rachel also was out...So off to her bed we did carry and read the story from the scriptures with the two other boys...It started out great, except Andrew was getting loopy...he gets rather silly when he's reached his tired end.....At the name David in the Scriptures he just kept repeating...david, david, david (I think it's one of his favorite names...) mom and dad finished up reading and quickly said prayers and put them to bed....So the santa big man could come..just after 8 pm on Christmas eve and all the children were already asleep...

And of course Santa ate the Cookies and milk left out for him.

.and even wrote back to the letter the kids left him.

Opening Santa presents early the next morning...I can't say too early I believe it was at least 7 am. Andrew showing he got the wii game he wanted from Santa. (side note, we don't have a wii, but he asks for the games anyway knowing that grandma and cousin Ethan have a wii and will let him play occasionally)

Eric got a new umbrella from santa (it's what he asked for, along with blue silly string - which he also got)  and a white jewel and some playdough..

Opening presents from family...New sheets for andrew from mom and dad (Mario Kart!)

I did take the kids to to dollar store before they got sick and told them they each had 5 dollars to pick out something for everyone in the family (and idea I got from a friend) They each got a basket and looked and looked, and carefully picked out things that they thought each other would like...and then kept saying "don't look in my basket.."  They were so excited to purchase their items and wrap them up and put them under the tree to give each other ...all this and it only cost me $20! Best idea ever!

Grandma Great got everyone some new shoes...Rachel got pink boots! (Andrew new sunday shoes, and Eric some buzz slippers)

Dad's gift from mom was a certificate for a minivacation for the week after Christmas.

Rachel also asked Santa for an umbrella - she loves it.

Christmas was great, we relaxed played with our new toys and then ventured over to my mom's and jeff's parents and had a little more Christmas...:)
