Legos..

Our neighbors down the street occasionally come by with hand me downs for our kids.  She has two older boys and always asks if my kids would like the toys, or clothes, etc.  Well, this last time she asked if they would like some legos?  Would they?  Doesn't every kid love legos? I know I Love legos, and I know that legos are expensive....of course we would like them.... Well let me tell you this was a treasure! a huge plastic bin full of legos, all kinds..  Upon our investigation there were planes, trains, cars, and soccer games.  There was spidermen, doc oc, star wars characters - including darth vader, storm troopers, jedis and chewbaca!  even light sabers to go with them... :)  Andrew has loved it!  They even had all the instructions for putting everything together - even if the pieces were all mixed up.  The first thing we made was a remote controled lego car - This wasn't too hard, and was mostly in one place so didn't take too long.  It gave us weeks for enjoyment to play with - we couldn't believe it worked - we went through tons of batteries! The second major build was the air plane - all the parts were scattered throughout the bin, so this is how our front room/toy room looked for almost two weeks - until we found all the parts and got it all put together. (I had to keep telling inner neat freak  that the kids are being creative, it's the only way to really find the pieces...)  We finally did it! :)Follows is the finished product: pilot, steward, working men and all.... creativity at work.....doors really open - the steward is in the rear - mixing drinks at the sink...Check out how proud he is of this! Worth the work....:) He played with this for a long time, and kept putting it back together as it fell apart... until Bryant and Eric got to it one morning, and sadly it needs a major overhaul now. :)
