January

okay - just for fun, for me as well as anyone who still occasionally follows this blog I'm going to give a run down of the major events of January - a recap of sorts! :)
  • Back to school for both Andrew and Rachel, mom was surprised at how much she enjoyed having them home during the break!  :)
  • Van started leaking some strange substance - hence an unexpected trip to the dealership and unexpected expense.  The steering column, oil pan, and radiator all had leaks that needed to be replaced. LUCKILY most of it was covered under our extended warrently - about $2,000 - only $350 was our share - I'm okay with that - thank heaven for our blessings and all who help out while we are van less as well! (you know who you are! and you are awesome!)
  • Rachel and mommy had a girl day and went to Disney on Ice with some other friends and their daughters! It was tinkerbell, cars, lion king, and ariel! Rachel loved it! :)
  • Andrew brought home his progress report with glowing reviews! Go Andrew - He is reading a storm - even takes a turn reading scriptures without much help from mom and dad during family scripture reading.
  • Dad and mom went on a date and saw a movie! Sherlock holmes was the feature and the reviews were thumbs up! We liked it a lot - both the date and the movie!
  • Mom accomplished much of her goal for January in organizing and cleaning junk out of the house.  Then we had a yard sale and took the rest of the the 12 bags and boxes to savers and Deseret Industries! Yes - I feel much lighter and I can actually walk around in the garage! - There still is much to be done, but it was a huge start!
  • Eric started potty training and is doing fairly well, with only mild resistance!  Go eric go!
  • Bryant has grown leaps and bounds.  He loves to stand and roll over and even is getting up on hands and knees and trying to crawl.  He hasn't moved forward yet, but I know it's coming any second now!
  • Bryant also  started eating biter biscuits and little puffs.  He still has no teeth, even though he is constantly trying to chew our hands and teething.  He also has started loving to spit again, blowing raspberries at everyone who will watch for a moment.
  • Everyone except mom  and Bryant got a haircut.
  • Got a new vaccumm for the house - mom's new toy - love it - especially since the old one died.
  • Had some fun family times - played lots of games with the kids!
That's January in a nutshell - Welcome to February or as my kids say - valentines day month! :)

I've love to see Eric with a haircut. His crazy curls are fun too.
Good luck with potty training!
